Samsung has unveiled the Galaxy Camera 2, the second compact camera manufacturer that runs on Android (in this case version 4.3). The 16.3-megapixel camera features a large lens 21x optical zoom, image stabilization and a xenon flash. The latter ensures that you shoot sharp images in low light. Furthermore, the camera can shoot in 1080p with up to 30 frames per second. If you opt for the lower 512p mode, you can capture up to 120 frames per second.
Galaxy Camera 2 has twice the working and storage memory on board. Your device does it with 2GB of RAM and 8GB of storage. The latter can be expanded with a micro SD card. Furthermore, the rear of the Android camera is dominated by a 4.8-inch LCD screen with a resolution of 1280 by 720 pixels. A layer of Gorilla Glass should be leaving scratches and scuffs on the display appearance.
Beneath the Samsung Galaxy Camera 2 also features a 1.6 GHz quad-core processor and a 2000 mAh battery. In theory, users can thus create 350 pictures before back on the charger, the Android camera. Whether this also applies to photos taken with the xenon flash is unclear. There are two variants of the phone, and without 3G.
Galaxy Camera 2 next week will be admired at CES technology fair in Las Vegas. The retail price of the device will probably like its predecessor around 499 euro lie. When the Galaxy Camera 2 is located in the Dutch and Belgian stores, is still unknown.
