than a year after its release, the Galaxy Tab 2 is still one of the most popular tablets in the Netherlands. With the Samsung Tab 3 tries to repeat with a new size of 8 inches.
this success
Nutech also tested the 10-inch model, which has the larger screen after almost the same appearance. There is also a 7-inch version, but it was no review available model.
The tablets have a back made of a material that we can call it by now. “Samsung plastic ‘ The plastic, known for phones like the Galaxy S III and S4, does not feel luxurious to but is sturdy.
Galaxy Tab 3 tablets appear in all respects to an enlarged Galaxy S4: rounded corners, metallic sides and the same buttons.
10 inch tablet differs a bit off because the three standard Android buttons are on the long side of the screen, to stimulate. use in landscape mode Also, the greater the device-stereo speakers on both sides, instead of both at the bottom.
Handsome is that the tablets also about as thin as the S4 and 314 and 510 grams respectively, the weight remained limited.
Both models have a screen of 1280 by 800 pixels. At the 8-inch model that provides a pixel density of 189 pixels per inch, while the 10-inch model to do it.
149 ppia mid tablet 8 inch is acceptable, but we can now expect a higher resolution, especially for the 379 euro Samsung asks for the 10-inch version of the Tab 3.
on larger screens
the larger screen texts are free pixelig. Also, both tablets what paler color than the screens of Samsung phones. However, the white value and clarity in order.

Regarding performance, the Galaxy Tab 3 tablets a lot of problems. It often occurs noticeable delay when launching apps, and movements are often far from flowing through the system.
Benchmark Tests confirm that the tablets from the Tab 3 series are not the fastest. Both tablets score in Geekbench, a test that include the processor and memory test, even lower than the Asus Memo Pad HD 7, which recently hit the market for 169 euros.
Vellamo, an HTML5 test, performs the 8-inch model better than the Memo Pad, but worse than the Nexus 7 a year old. The 10-inch Galaxy Tab 3 also beats the Nexus 7, but only very narrowly.
Graphic performs the 10-inch tablet better than the smaller model. Graphic heavy games like Asphalt 7 not run completely smoothly, but show a lot less delay than the 8-inch tablet.
Playing a 720p video with sound and wifi on, with the brightness at 65 percent, held the 10-inch tablet 7 hours. Interestingly kept the smaller tablet, with a 35 percent smaller battery, an hour longer. This is reasonable.

Both tablets have a decent front camera of 1.3 megapixel for video calling.
Where the tablets really excel is in sound quality. The stereo speakers on both devices are excellent and can be hard without too severe distortion. The lack of blikkerigheid is a relief.
The positioning of the speakers on either side of the 10-inch tablet also makes this tablet one of the few that actually gives a stereo feeling. The 8 inch tablet, the speakers next to one another at the bottom, so that lacks this property.
the Galaxy Tab 3 is Android 4.2.2 with the now familiar Touchwiz software from Samsung. This has advantages – such as easily accessible settings in the notification screen – but looks generally not very nice
.
enclosed note and calendar apps like for example too much like paper equivalents. They are also quite subordinate to free competitors like Evernote and Google Calendar.
However useful the addition of WatchOn, an app that televisions and set-top boxes can be controlled. This uses the infrared transmitter that is processed. Tablets in the Who the Galaxy Tab on lap 3, can be remote so leave.
at the TVUnfortunately8 inch tablet enters a nasty bug on making it difficult for the notification screen down dragging. If you do this from the edge or not, it works exactly the movement should start from the top bar. Oddly enough, the 10 inch version are not likely.
8 and 10-inch models of the Galaxy Tab 3 are solid tablets, especially the small enclosures. The performance and screen resolution are disappointing.
The biggest problem with the devices is actually the price. For the 299 euros that the 8-inch version costs can soon buy a Nexus 7 with full HD screen. And for a few bucks more than the 379 euros that the 10 inch version costs get Samsung’s own Galaxy Note 10.1 or Nexus 10. That also are both better performing tablets with better screens.
You may wonder whether the Android market actually room for the middle class tablets. Cheaper models know the needs of most users often perform while enthusiasts are willing to invest in quality fine. Now So who is the Galaxy Tab 3 actually meant?
- Thin, sturdy housing
- Good sound
- Reasonable battery life
- Low resolution (especially 10 inch)
- Price
- Disappointing performance
- Moderate software
